In addition to software development, research software management topics also include best practice standards, appropriate software quality, accessibility, documentation, citation, reusability and software sustainability. Responsible, open and sustainable use of research software makes a significant contribution to ensuring good scientific practice and promotes the transparency and reproducibility of research results.
All members and affiliates of the University of Jena undertake to actively manage research software in accordance with the rules of good scientific practice through the "Guidelines for the use of research software". The responsibility for this lies fundamentally with the researchers and in particular with the head of the respective research activity. We advise both individuals and entire working or project groups on all aspects of research software management.
