Description

The digitization of analogue media makes it possible to provide and reuse content for teaching and research that is difficult to access, e.g. older media formats that require special playback devices or rare or inaccessible objects in museums or archives. The originals can be protected and preserved, while at the same time being didactically enriched and used in an interdisciplinary way through digital interaction.

Various hardware and software are available for the respective media, with which the content is scanned or recorded and converted into modern output formats such as mp4 or mp3.

Possible applications and technical functions

You can digitize the following media and objects with our technology:

  • Books, maps, files, etc. in large format (large format scanner A1)
  • Slides (slide scanner)
  • 8mm films (N8, Super8 and 9.5 Pathé) and 16mm films (film scanners)
  • Video cassettes
  • Tapes
  • 3D scanning of real objects (e.g. models, sculptures) for archiving found objects, creation of print samples for 3D printing, etc.
  • Recording of television programs
