Description

The Electronic Journals Library (EZB) offers centralized access to academic e-journals from all subject areas. It provides clear information on the accessibility of full texts and uses a clear traffic light system to show whether a journal is freely available, can be used via a campus license or is not accessible. In addition to basic license information, the EZB allows users to search for specific journals by title, subject area or ISSN. This allows users to quickly find out which electronic journals are available for their studies, research or teaching. The structured overview of subject-specific holdings is particularly helpful, providing efficient orientation in the extensive range of academic journals.

Possible applications and technical functions

Note: The EZB searches for the journal title, the search for individual journal articles is carried out on the respective homepage of the provider (alternatively: the publisher, the journal homepage).

  • Overview and index of electronic scientific journals in all disciplines
  • Information on license conditions, access rights and locations, i.e. it is possible to check whether a scientific journal is published in electronic form and whether access to the full texts is available
  • Differentiation between freely accessible and institutionally licensed titles for planning searches
  • A traffic light system shows the access rights at a glance: green (freely accessible), yellow (partially licensed), red (no access)
  • Thematic (search field "keyword") and title-based search for available journal titles
  • Links to full texts on the publisher's pages and direct access to the journal pages
