Well connected - at university, at home and on the move.
Whether it's a workstation, laptop, smartphone or measuring devices, internet access is essential for studying or researching. You have various options for accessing the internet and using university-wide services or online services from third-party providers.
Internet access at the university (WLAN via eduroam)
Eduroam is the recommended access to the university's WLAN for students, employees, guests with a university account and guests whose home institutions participate in the eduroam project (education roaming).
Use university services from home and on the move
Many data, information and services can only be accessed within the university's protected network. To access services that can only be accessed internally from outside (e.g. from home), you need a protected connection via VPN access. By setting up a VPN (virtual private network) to the university network, your computer is virtually connected to the university network (intranet) as if it were actually on site.
In staff rooms
Within the university, work devices (PCs, notebooks, measuring devices) can be connected to the university network via permanently installed data sockets using network cables. This enables fast access to online services and the internet.
