Description
The University Computer Center provides employees and students with central, secure and recoverable storage space as a personal workspace.
Storage spaces can also be set up for shared use in working groups or projects so that shared documents can be stored in one place and several people at Friedrich Schiller University can have access to this data. In contrast to the Uni Cloud, however, several people cannot work collaboratively on one document.
Possible applications and technical functions
By storing data in a central storage location, it can be accessed from different devices:
- Via PCs in the university-wide data network (e.g. in offices, PC pools)
- Mobile via notebooks in the university-wide WLAN
- Outside of the university-wide data network, access is possible via VPN (Virtual Private Network) is possible.
- Group management for shared storage space (if there is a requirement that not every user should have access to every folder) as a group admin via the service website
